Will you go to Washington, D.C. with me?
April 3-4, 2018
Be part of the Ohio Conference UCC presence at the Rally to End Racism.
The National Council of Churches calls all faith groups to prayer and action on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. The work he valiantly led during his lifetime must continue –as current events remind us every hour!
Dr. King once said, “A time comes when silence is betrayal.”
We must no longer remain silent at a time like this in the life of our nation.
The Ohio Council of Churches and the Ohio Conference UCC are providing touring buses to meet rally partners in Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati.
We will travel overnight April 3, to participate in the Interfaith Service of Prayer and Preparation at Lincoln Memorial at 7:30 a.m. April 4. There will be time for a leisurely walk of 1.3 miles from the Memorial to the National Mall where the rally begins at noon. Participants may bring fold up chairs and snacks. Buses will return to Ohio during the night of April 4.
Bus fare is $75.00 per person, plus your cost for meals and incidentals enroute.
The Ohio Conference UCC will assist each UCC participant with $30.00 toward additional expenses. These grants from the Racial/Ethnic Empowerment Fund will be distributed on each bus at the time of departure.
The registration deadline is March 1. Sign up now to reserve your seat on the bus!
Let’s fill the buses with UCC members who are ready to
