Summer exhaled, and Fall came to Pilgrim Hills! So what happens at camp in the fall?
The site is being used by groups for weekend and overnight events.
Volunteers are busily planning the annual Fall Youth Event for high school aged youth and their leaders on November 21-22. Click the link above for registration and more information.
Carolyn Thompson and the food service staff are now offering a list of meal options to our weekend user groups. There are several choices for each of the three daily meals that fall within the standard contract pricing, so you may select what best suits your group. They are also working diligently to address special dietary needs when they know about them.
The dining hall was winterized by a volunteer group who spent a Saturday afternoon removing the screens and installing the storm windows. There are plenty of projects like that to be done at camp. If your group is interested, contact Site Manager Jeff Thompson (phcamp@hotmail.com or 740-599-6314), and he will help plan a project appropriate for the time and expertise you have to offer.
Templed Hills is again being winterized to reduce our expenses while the Conference Board of Directors moves forward with plans to make us more sustainable for the future. The summer contract group that used Templed Hills “as is” for a running camp worked out well.
Fall is actually a wonderful time to be at camp. The evenings are cool, so you appreciate the campfire. The colors are beautiful in the hills. Have you been to the Big Rocks when you can see for miles through the trees?
Make plans now to take a group to Pilgrim Hills. Reservations may be made by contacting UCCR at www.uccr.org or 1-800-678-5102.
