Glorious Fall colors should greet us when we say official good-byes to Pilgrim Hills Camp on Saturday, Oct, 7 in Brinkhaven, OH.
Campers of all ages, counselors and directors, and friends are all welcome to Pilgrim Hills for a ceremony of de-commissioning. Please mark the date in your calendar.
In February, the Board of Directors voted to sell the property after several years of struggling through a financial crisis related to its two properties — Pilgrim Hills in Brinkhaven, OH and Templed Hills in Bellville, OH. Although the camp site remains open through the rest of 2017 for events already scheduled into December, we will have an opportunity for final camp tour, a community lunch and time for telling stories about the friendships and faith encounters made possible by the long history of our use of this sacred space.
Specific details will be announced soon. There will be an opportunity for an overnight visit for those who wish to arrive early and spend time on their own savoring special places and moments on the camp site. Official activities, however, are planned for Saturday.
Watch for registration information which will be forthcoming shortly. In the meantime, spread the word to church members, friends, and those who were in your camp groups when you were at Pilgrim Hills. It will be a time for reunion, for sharing our sadness, and for looking forward to a new outdoor ministry in 2018!
