After holding onto this idea for an inclusive, intergenerational retreat weekend for more than six years, North Congregational UCC and the Ohio Conference UCC finally saw the Love is Love retreat come to fruition in February at Pilgrim Hills Camp.
Twenty LGBT folks and allies, ages ranging from 13 to 95, gathered at Pilgrim Hills on February 20 to share stories and open the conversation about love’s diversity. What a great weekend to have so many different experiences and stories shared. We shared meals, laughter, stories of our life experiences and worship, all while forming new friendships. We created a lasting art piece to share with others who attend camp at Pilgrim Hills and we look forward to coming together next year at the same time to catch up, reconnect and continue the story of LGBT concerns and how do we as people of faith support the LGBT community and movement.

Next Love is Love retreat
February 18-19, 2017
Next year’s Love is Love retreat will be held on February 18-19, 2017 and we can only hope for the beautiful sunny skies and warm temperatures that we were blessed with this year! If you would like to find out more information regarding this weekend or would like to be part of a planning team contact Chris Isaacs or Kim Heimlich at email@example.com.
This retreat is also first (hopefully of many) retreats planned and sponsored by a local church that invites churches from throughout Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia to participate. Church members from all parts of the conference attended this event and we hope for even more next year! If your church would like to sponsor a conference wide event or retreat like this, please contact Nicole Havelka at firstname.lastname@example.org, Minister for Resourcing, Networking and Creativity, to help get you started.
