Lent is a time of refocusing, a time to repent, to turn to God, or return to God, to refocus oneself on God. There are many ways to do this. For me, being with God at a thin place helps me to do this. And I know that for some, that thin place has been our Pilgrim Hills camp. It has been that place for me as well. I also know that there are many places that God meets us and become thin places. My hope this Lent for you, is that you are finding God, and listening to God’s still small voice that calls you to grow in faith, love, grace, and compassion.
Your Board of Directors of the Ohio Conference UCC, has continued to pray and work, to listen and to move forward this Lent. After our last meeting, at which we voted to sell Pilgrim Hills after the summer program and move our program to Templed Hills, we set up some working groups to begin the planning and preparation for this change. Vice Moderator Cathy Green has convened the Outdoor Ministries Task Force to begin strategizing and planning a three-year business plan for outdoor ministries. An operations team is also being put together, as well as a faith formation task force. All of these groups are working hard to envision and plan our outdoor ministries program.
Our next Board of Directors meeting is May 19, and there will be reports from each of these task forces, as well as other business that we are responsible for.
Thank you for supporting and working together with us as the Ohio Conference visions and grows in God’s love.
Blessings this Lent, and a hope for the Easter joy that is to come.
