I’m thinking about the new year, the Three Great Loves, and a carol by John Rutter.
Let’s start with the carol. Rutter writes of the season,
“…seems like you could wish for peace on earth,
and all at once it would come – some day!”
Peace on earth – all at once. But wait – some day?
Is that a reminder that peace is in our hands?
The Three Great Loves emphasis points out a strategy. The way to real peace on earth starts with love of God, and moves to love of children, love of neighbor, and love of creation.
What’s the expected outcome? A just peace for all!
There’s a great resolution in there somewhere.
Happy New Year!
