Make A Difference grants are awarded out of the interest earnings from the Heartland Conference Make A Difference (MAD) Endowment Fund. MAD grants for 2021-2022 may be requested up to $1,000. Approved grants may not equal the requested amount in every situation.
The grant proposal deadline is November 1, 2020. To apply, complete the application at the bottom of the page. We strongly recommend that you type your responses in your preferred text editor (such as Word) and copy and paste them into the form.
After completing the form below, your association staff person will be sent an email requesting that they complete an online reference form. The association reference must be completed before your application will be considered.
Purpose of the Make A Difference Grants
The purposes for the Fund are to assist with networking, capacity building, and ministry enhancement of United Church of Christ congregations in the Heartland Conference. Requests may include grants to fund leadership development, congregational ministries, and community outreach ministries.
Emphasis may be given to new, creative and imaginative projects as well as support for existing programs.
Reporting Requirements
Grant recipients are required to submit reports detailing how the funds addressed the need which was identified in the application, in what ways the recipient organization or project was strengthened, how the funded project affected the congregation or community at large, and what effort remains in order to complete the project.
